The Model Railway Clearing House (MRCH) has been established to act as an intermediary between those with items of garden scale model railways to sell and those looking to buy. We specialise in Gauge 0 and Gauge 1 narrow and standard gauge locomotives and rolling stock from 1:32 to 1:13.7 scales, usually selling on a commission basis to ensure both vendors and buyers get a fair deal. We often get requests for items that are hard to find and similarly get offered items by customers or from estate sales. Thus we are able to keep a list of requirements and available items some of which are rare or hard to obtain. We try to match up the two halves of this equation with a view providing a useful service that ensures pre-owned locomotives and rolling stock find good homes. The office will not be manned every day of the week and the best way to contact us is by email – info@mrc-h.co.uk Normal office hours are 10:00hrs – 16:00hrs Monday to Friday.
Our preferred method of payment is by bank transfer (BACS) but we accept most major credit and debit cards and cash.
Vendors are charged a fixed commission which is substantially lower than auction house costs as long as items are in working order. If an item is supplied ‘in working order’ but is found to require cleaning or remedial work then the cost of this will be passed back to the vendor. Buyers will be charged carriage at cost and please note that we ship to Europe, the USA and Japan among other countries. We don’t normally negotiate on price but if you are interested in a parcel of stock some flexibility may be possible.
