Welcome to another round of news from The Model Railway Clearing House. It is hard to believe that we are only a month from the start of the 2026 show season, kicking off with the Midlands Garden Railway Show at the Warwickshire Event Centre on Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March. This multi-scale show has something of interest for all garden railway enthusiasts and we are looking forward to seeing you there. We will be bringing the ‘cash boxes’, a large box of narrow gauge and a large box of Gauge 1 bits and pieces, accessories and parts which you will be welcome to haggle for but only for cash! Since our last Gauge 1 update we have picked up some choice items, not least of which is yet more L&NWR stock, ‘Premier Line’ stock for the ‘Premier Gauge’! In consequence we will be concentrating on Gauge 1 in this bulletin, even if we can’t illustrate the profusion of rolling stock in one post. We have dozens of lovely pre-grouping wagons on offer, most from the collection of the late Barry Applegate, which would be ideal stocking-fillers! We will consider discounting bulk orders for combinations of these wagons – first come, first served!
Freddie Wrighton LNWR George V 4-4-0 No. 1360 Fire Queen, lined LNWR black, 10mm scale, wooden case. A really lovely model of an elegant Bowen-Cooke design, the model has been in the hands of one owner for many years, serviced by David Stick and upgraded with a tender axle pump and can be fitted with a regulator servo (supplied) powered from the full brake. Hand built rake of seven LNWR Elliptical-roofed corridor coaches, LNWR plum & spilt milk, 10mm scale, wooden carry cases. A unique and superb rake of seven LNWR corridor coaches, complete with sprung buffers, flexile corridor connections, compensated bogies and interiors, the full brake has a battery compartment and RC receiver to operate a servo on the footplate of the engine (supplied) controlling the regulator.
