With the Llanfair Show fast approaching, it seemed like a sensible idea to let you know of some of the items recently added to the website – and there are quite a few! We have a glorious collection of pre-owned Asters, both British outline and European types and have just started to upload a considerable collection of live steam Shays as well as some very choice 1:20.3 rolling stock. If any of these are of interest we can bring them to hand over at the show. The stand will be festooned with Shays as well as some of the more conventional inventory! See you there!
Pre-owned Asters for sale
Aster for Fulgurex DB P8/BR38 4-6-0 in DB black + tub tender. A really lovely example of this handsome model of a renowned prototype, this one comes with the additional bonus of not one, but two tenders, the original pattern and the later tub tender that many of the class were equipped with. This is a unique opportunity to run an Aster in a very rarely seen configuration. More images and video here. £4250.00
Aster LMS Princess Coronation 4-6-2 No. 46233 Duchess of Sutherland – lined BR blue. A model in superb condition and one that is now hard to come by. Comes with its own wooden carry case, more images here. £4750.00
Aster-Accucraft 9F 2-10-0 No. 92214 Cock o’ the North, BR black. A kit-built model, renumbered and named to reflect that now carried by No. 92214, it has only been test steamed whilst fitted with radio control on the regulator and blower but this has now been removed (although it is still available with the locomotive). Narrow gauge treats
Peter Angus two-cylinder, two truck Shay, 32mm gauge, 1:19 scale. Described in full detail on page 190 of the ‘Peter Angus, locomotive builder’ book, this unusual prototype has benefitted from Peter’s usual meticulous engineering, the locomotive is gas-fired with a vertical boiler with Goodall valve hidden in the water tank filler. Accucraft Mich Cal Shay #2, 32mm gauge, live steam, 1:20.3 scale. A rare beast, and Accucraft Shay that has been re-set to 32mm gauge. Part of an extensive collection of Shays we will be bringing to the market, this attractive little engine is perfect for any 2′ gauge logging line. RC fitted, supplied with its transmitter.
